Rennes, founder city of the CAAC, belongs to various European networks whose aim is to improve aspects such as innovation, renewable energy, or the adaptation of the city to the digital evolution.
Eurocities, association that Rennes is part since 2008, has organized in the Breton capital the Knowledge Society Forum (KSF), from 27 to 29 April. This event, that has been created in order to promote the digital evolution, counted on the participation of cities such as Barcelona, Manchester, Vienna, and London. The experts have dealt with topics such as the public domain’s access, the cyber security, the digital manufacturing and the role that cities will develop in this process.
The Atlantic Cities have been working for long on this issue, through different projects. Know Cities should be noted as an example, whose objective was to implement an innovative methodology that allows encouraging and facilitating the access and transition to knowledge economy for medium-sized cities. Currently, the Atlantic network prepares actions in order to initiate the Atlantic Urban Strategy and to position the Atlantic Cities as Inventive Cities.
