Since 2017, Grand Poitiers is composed of 40 municipalities of which half of them have less than 2.000 inhabitants. The relation urban-rural is therefore an important topic for this Urban Agglomeration.
In this context, Grand Poitiers will sign a rurality contract with the French State next February 20. It allows benefiting from financing, regarding public services access, revitalisation of town centres, territorial attractivity, local mobility, social cohesion and ecological and energy transition.
This commitment from Grand Poitiers is consistent with the chapter 3 of the Atlantic Charter of San Sebastián signed in 2008 by the Atlantic Arc Cities.
