ECORIS3 project: European cooperation for innovation

Lead by Fomento San Sebastián (Spain), member of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities, the EcoRIS3 INTERREG Europe project focuses on innovation.

Its partnership is composed by seven other entities. The Cork Institute of Technology, in Ireland, Cork city being a member of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities. ADRAVE, the regional development agency of Vale do Ave in Portugal is also contributing. Furthermore, there is a Lithuanian non-profit organisation (Sunrise Valley) specialised in entrepreneurship. Kainuun Etu Ltd, a Finnish development company bring its expertise. In addition, EcoRIS3 counts on the Metropolitain City of Turin, in Italy. The Latvian Vidzeme Planning Region ensuring cooperation between local authorities collaborates as well to the project.

Finally, the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities provides EcoRIS3 with a political and technical follow-up. The Atlantic Urban Forum gives a European dimension as a member of the Structured Dialogue on European Structural and Investment Funds of the European Commission. Moreover, the network adds its transnational component, representing 250 local entities of the Atlantic Arc, being an observer member of the INTERREG Atlantic Area programme and represented at the Stakeholders’ Platform for the Atlantic Maritime Strategy.
