The last session of the Atlantic Forum was held in Cork between the 4th and the 5th of March 2013. The Opening session counted on the welcoming words of:
Michael Murphy, president of the UCC College
Simon Coveney, Irish Minister for the Marine issues
Lowri Evans, Director General of the European Commission`s DG for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries
This session continued with a keynote speech of Peter Heffernan, Chief Executive of the Irish Marine Institute.
CAAC was there represented by Mr. Charles Nicol, Secretary-General, Tamara Guirao, Coordinator and Brest Métropole Ocèane, president of the Sustainable Urban Development Commission.
The day continued with two parallel sessions, one workshop on Research and Innovation driving the Atlantic Strategy and another on Atlantic Ports, TEN-T network, connectivity and opportunities for international and intra-Community trade.
