The European Maritime Day is the place of annual meeting of the maritime community in Europe. The main objectives are to network the European maritime actors, exchanging good practices and to increase the visibility of the maritime sector. It attracts approximately 1,000 attendees every year.
The Council of the European Union has just announced the new cities that will host these sessions over the period 2020-2024. Among these cities, two are members of the Conference of Atlantic Arc cities: Cork and Brest. The former will host the European Maritime day 2020 and the latter will do it in 2023. The city of Lisbon, also member of the Atlantic Urban Forum, had already been chosen to organize the event in 2019. These nominations confirm the fact that the Atlantic Arc is a key actor for the European territory.
The Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities congratulates its three cities for their work and the future welcome of this main event for the future of the maritime sector and of Europe.
