The Cork City Council, member of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities, has seen 4 out of its 7 projects approved by the Interreg Atlantic Area Program.

The projects mainly deal to economic development (Atlantic Food Export & Atlantic Digital Start-ups Academy), social innovation and social entrepreneurship (Atlantic Social Lab) and heritage tourism in the Atlantic Arc (Maritime, Military & Industrial Heritage of the Atlantic Area).

For all these projects, the total budget for Cork is € 1 275 000. Thanks to the European co-funding, these projects represent a collective value of €900,000 for the city.

The implementation of the plans will begin in the coming months and its execution will be led locally in collaboration with stakeholders across this city over a period of two to three years. Two projects that are part of the Statement of Cork 2.0 on rural development.

As an expert of European programmes, the General Secretariat of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities has helped and supported Cork about project applications, in order to find new partners and integrate existing projects.
