A French multinational automobile industry, Bontaz Centre, market leader in the production of car parts, has settled in Viana do Castelo, in Lanheses Business Park.
Activities will begin early in 2018 and will allow the creation of hundreds of job posts. An investment of 25 million euros for the company, with the aim of reaching up to 900 new jobs in 4 years. The choice of Viana do Castelo is comes from the proximity of the city to the France and the fact that the motorcar culture is already installed in the Viana do Castelo County.
The Mayor of Viana do Castelo, also President of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities and President of the Portuguese delegation to the Committee of the Regions, José Maria Costa, stressed the importance of the investment creating “quality jobs”.
This investment allows the city of Viana do Castelo to strengthen the economic development issues; a thematic addressed by the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities.
