The Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities (CAAC) and its President, Mr José Maria Costa, Mayor of Viana Do Castelo, participated in a European-level seminar in the framework of the Get WET project, last March 2017 in Brussels.

The city-president of the Atlantic network and CAAC both contributed to the final version of the project’s toolkit that aims at supporting organisations seeking to develop water sports at regional and local levels.

Mr Costa made a presentation on the innovative approach of its city for policies fostering health-enhancing and physical activities through water sports. Such as the regeneration of port cities and port areas, this is another good example of the contribution of Atlantic Arc cities to the Atlantic strategy, fitting into the priority 4 of its Action Plan.
