The next 14 and 15 June the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa and the city of San Sebastian will jointly host the 2018 General Assembly of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities. This event will be marked by the European calendar, since it is expected that the president of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, present the first perspectives for the future EU budget just a few weeks before.

In the same way, this Assembly coincides with the tenth anniversary of the Political Charter of the Network, known as the “San Sebastian Charter“, which already in 2008 anticipated the need for green growth and reinforced cooperation between cities and Atlantic actors.

As it happened in 2008, Atlantic cities will define a clear strategy for the post-2020 future, with special solidarity with their British sisters, since the network and its members believe that Brexit should not create artificial borders in the Atlantic Arc .

In the next weeks the inscriptions will be opened. The program will be adopted in the Executive Bureau of March 13, 2017 in Rennes.
