On June 14 and 15, the San Sebastián City Council and the District Council of Guipúzcoa will host the General Assembly 2018 of the Atlantic Arc Cities, an event that takes on great importance this year. 2018 is a key year since it is the European Year of Cultural Heritage. In addition, it is the tenth anniversary of the publication of the Political Charter of the network: the San Sebastian Charter. This document anticipated in 2008 the need for green growth and reinforced cooperation between cities and Atlantic actors.
During the General Assembly different round tables, dialogues and presentations will take place. They will deal with issues such as the citizen dimension in the reform of the European Union or the challenges and post-Brexit scenarios. This event aims to define the objectives of the Atlantic cities, showing solidarity with the local authorities of the United Kingdom. The Atlantic cities consider that the Brexit should not create artificial borders in the Atlantic Arc.
