Extended to the first quarter of 2014, Imagina Atlantica project wants to create an Atlantic cluster around the technologies of digital imaging and to display the potential of pooling competencies at a transnational level.

Gathered in Angouleme on 20th and 21st February, project partners were able to share with other global actors on the different applications of imaging technologies in local politics and economic development. On February 20, the meeting opened with the intervention of Suzana Menezes, who presented the Oliva Creative Factory project, emphasizing that the involvement of the community is critical to success.

The importance of horizontal collaboration was highlighted by the Cluster Audivisual of Asturias, and experiences of intersectoral cooperation were described by the two image poles present: Images et Réseaux (Rennes) and Magelis (Angulema.)  The Ciudad Creativa Digital of Guadalajara(México) was showcased as a long-term and large-scale experience of a local integrated strategy around new technologies. The day was completed with several visits of the image companies installed in Angouleme.  Day 21 was entirely devoted to the analysis, design and proposal of Living Labs, in a keynote session led by Elisabete Tomaz of INTELI and Gilles Fontaine of IDATE.

Within this project, the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities works to enhance the Atlantic transnational dimension. In this sense, this Atlantic Urban Forum will launch in the coming days a working group “Creative Cities”, so as to work on the results of the project and others like Know Cities or Cultur * AT.
