Creation of the Maritime Innovative Territories International Network

The blue economy, an issue for the international maritime community.
Friday, July 13, the partners of the International network of innovative Maritimes territories signed the convention which marks the start of their joint work in Brest.
Maritime Innovative Territories International Network was created in Brest, aiming to face the challenges of a sustainable economic growth. The blue growth for the benefit of its territories and leant on innovation is key to this new economy.
The network has been built over time and today represents a mesh of territories linked by their common goal to develop a “blue” economy. The initiative is driven by the Technopôle Brest-Iroise, with the support of Brest Métropole Océane and all of their local and international partners.

Europe: Brest, Kiel (Germany), Plymouth (UK), Galway (Ireland), Porto (Portugal), Vigo and Barcelona the Islands Canaries (Spain), Constanta (Romania);
North America: Rimouski (Canada), San Diego (USA)
Central America: Vera Cruz (Mexico)
South America: Comodoro Rivadavia (Argentina)
Asia: Qingdao and Shanghai (China), Haiphong (Viet Nam), Jakarta (Indonesia).

Territories are very varied from a geographical and socio-economic point of view, but able to mobilize their local networks, scientific and economic, public and private partners.
