The “I-SPEED-Information Society Policies for Sustainable European Economic Development” final conference will be held in Santiago de Compostela (Galicia, Spain) on September 20th 2012. Further to the 10 politicians members of the I-SPEED Political Steering Group, representatives from the European Commission and 2 European networks will attend the conference.
I-SPEED (external link to November 2011 version of project leaflet) project focuses on the development of information and communication technologies (ICT) as key to improve the European Tourism Economy competitiveness and sustainability. The main problems addressed are:
– Lack of awareness among politicians and decision-makers about the opportunities offered by the Information Society to improve public services and to foster competitiveness towards Lisbon Agenda goals
– Need to promote Innovation and ICT-based public services
– Loss of competitiveness of European Tourism Economy
The project supports the adoption of Information Society policies able to underpin regional economies. Nantes, CAAC City, is one of the partners.
