Saint-Nazaire: new public transport network

Member of the CAAC since its creation, Saint-Nazaire is an agglomeration that gathers ten municipalities: Besné, La Chapelle-des-Marais, Donges, Montoir-de-Bretagne, Pornichet, Saint-André-des-Eaux, Saint-Joachim, Saint-Malo-de-Guersac, Saint-Nazaire et Trignac.
After eighteen months of work, investing 56 million euro and with the support of the ERDF, the agglomeration of Saint-Nazaire has inaugurated its new public transport network: a system of public urban transport designed around a high-performance bus line called “Helyce”.

Going through the heart of the town, it connects the university and the commercial district to the station, and serves two municipalities of the agglomeration. Thus, the new line Helyce and the new Stran network are running since September.
With the aim to promote sustainable development, this initiative intends to encourage users to change their cars for efficient public transport, thus contributing to the energy transition. As established by the Charter of San Sebastian, urban mobility is a key to the development of Atlantic cities, which aim to “intensify their efforts to conceive new modes”.
