In the framework of the Cooperation Nautical Network Canarias-Morocco (www.naucam.com), funded by the European Union through the program POCTEFEX (www.poctefex.eu), the city of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria organizes on 10 and June 11, 2013 few days of work that will enable progress in creating a joint water sports destination for boaters, between Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura, Lanzarote and Agadir. Among other actions, on June 12, 2013, the city will hold a conference entitled “Business Opportunities in the framework of the European Strategy for Growth Blue” given by  D. Matthew King, Head of Unit of DG Mare of the European Commission, expert with a key reputation in this field. Thus, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria takes another step in its strategy to become an Ocean City, as the sector wants to strengthen the economy and improve its blue competitiveness, so as to remain a benchmark in the Mid-Atlantic.
