Atlantic Maritime Strategy: Nautism as facilitator

The mayor of Viana do Castelo, and president of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities, Jose Maria Costa, signed Thursday at the Sea Forum in Matosinhos, a protocol to create a dynamic hub, “Nautic Portugal”.

The mayor attended the panel “Portugal Atlantic Conference – global roadmap for growth and internationalization of sailing” with the presence of Sergio Ribeiro, a consultant from AEP (Portuguese Business Association), Rui Azevedo (Ocean Forum) and João Lúcio de APORVELA, where projects and emblematic actions of the entire maritime economy were analyzed. This was the national event of the Atlantic Maritime Strategy in Portugal for 2015.

Therefore, in this event the Ocean Center project, developed by the municipality of Viana do Castelo, with a focus on education and awareness of coastal culture and the promotion of water sports and its internationalization.
During the Forum of the Sea it was signed by José María Costa, president of the CIM Alto Minho, the dynamic hub, “Nautic Portugal”, launched in 2014 by the AEP, with the aim of establishing a marketing strategy and a communication plan for the international promotion of nautical tourism.
This dynamic hub will now create conditions for the development of proposals and projects presented in the study Nautic Portugal.
