Atlantic cities, ready for 2016

Among the activities of guidance about European projects of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities (CAAC), the coordinator, Tamara Guirao, has travelled in recent days to Nantes, Lisbon, Viana do Castelo and attended a briefing meeting in Rennes.

A delegation of Plymouth visited Nantes, CAAC founder city, in order to establish Atlantic partnerships, especially in the cultural dimension. The coordinator had with them an exchange on November 5.

In Lisbon on November 19, Tamara Guirao met with the services of International Relations of the Portuguese capital. The programs URBACT, INTERREG Atlantic Area, Innovative urban actions and Atlantic Maritime Strategy have been assesed.

On November 20, in Viana do Castelo, in addition to these issues, the possibilities of working within the Committee of the Regions were also analysed. José María Costa, president of the CAAC and mayor of Viana do Castelo, also chairs the Portuguese delegation in this European institution.

On December 4, the International Relations department of Rennes and Rennes Métropole organized an inter-service seminar in order to disseminate the different structural funds, with a special emphasis on cooperation funds. Tamara Guirao intervened to comment on the experience of the CAAC in INTERREG Atlantic Area, where the network projects have a pass rate of 75%.
