First French city to be recognized as “Green Capital of Europe” by the European Commission, Nantes will also be, from 25 to 27 September 2013 the first European city to host the World Summit of the Sustainable City.

One year after Rio + 20, ECOCITY 2013 should give a new impetus to the fight against climate change. After the failure of Copenhagen in 2009, that should have replaced the Kyoto Protocol, it comes to Nantes to prepare the framework for future international discussions.

This 10th edition of Ecocity, held for the first time in the European Union, will continue on 27 and 28 September with the World Mayors Summit on Climate, which brings together the signatories of the Covenant of Mexico city on the global climate of cities.
