Las Palmas: a more sustainable and economical energy model

Electricity and water bills cost about 9 million each year to the municipality of Las Palmas, Atlantic City of the year 2017. Thus, the City Council began the transition to a more sustainable energy model from an environmental and economic point of view. From the social point of view, it will also mean greater transparency and the participation of citizens in this transition.The measures to be applied are the revision of the consumption policy in the places where it is higher, in closed premises, or unoccupied areas. The lights at certain times and the implementation of good practices at the municipal offices will also new elements  put in place.These measures will help save more than 215 000 euros per year and reduce CO2 emissions.An economic model that respects the commitments regarding the reduction of the energy consumption of the territories of the Charter of San Sébastian
