During 7 days, from 24 to 30 July the 21st edition of the Interceltique Festival of Avilés has been held.
289 musicians and around twenty Celtic music groups of The Atlantic Arc from Asturias, Galicia, Bretagne, Scotland, Wales and Ireland met in Avilés, city member of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities. An exhibition started on 24 July to formalise the opening of the festival, combining poetry, music, painting and photography.
The Interceltique Festival of Avilés is a new proof that arts and cultural exchanges are important to the identity of the cities of the Atlantic Arc. Indeed, in the context of the European Year of Cultural Heritage, this festival evokes this theme addressed during the 2017 General Assembly of the Conference of Atlantic Arc cities.
