Last November 22nd, the “Atlantic Day” corresponding to the Atlantic City Award of the Year 2017 took place. With the presence of José Maria Costa, Mayor of Viana do Castelo and Augusto Hidalgo, Mayor of Las Palmas, the Atlantic Colloquium focused on three key issues for the future of the Atlantic territories: the Atlantic Maritime Strategy, the Blue Economy and the Digital Economy.

Through the different presentations, the city of Las Palmas is positioned as spear head of the Atlantic ideas and wants to transmit to the community institutions the messages following:

– The requirement to maintain and increase the Atlantic Maritime Strategy, ensuring the real participation of local actors

– The need to take into account the Blue Economy as basis for growth for the Future

– The experiences of co-working as accelerators of the Digital and Cooperative Economy, fundamental niches of development.

The General Secretariat of the Conference of Atlantic Arc Cities will communicate these and other ideas in their political position documents of 2018. Do not hesitate to follow or to contact us to obtain more information.
