The cities of Las Palmas and Viana do Castelo, respectively Atlantic City of the Year 2017 and 2018, were in September the headquarters of the consultation forums that the European Commission carries out to analyze with the interested parties the results and progress of the Atlantic Maritime Strategy.

Both meetings were a successful participation, not only because of the number of attendees, but also because of the quality of the debates, thanks to an intense prior identification of the experts who contributed to the sessions and the brainstorming around the development of the Blue Economy in the Atlantic Arc. The Secretary General of the Atlantic Cities, Tamara Espiñeira, has been one of the experts participating in both events.

The debate about the future of Western Europe continues in October with the meetings of Dublin (October 8) and Vigo (from October 22 to 24).
