The City of Faro helps its elderly people

In December, Faro revealed the Medicines Card initiative, which allows elderly people with limited financial resources to obtain free medication.

The municipality, in partnership with the IPSS Dignitud, has already enabled 86 inhabitants to benefit from this measure. However, the city does not intend to stop there, and wishes to extend this measure to 100 inhabitants by the end of the year, and 250 in 2021. To do this, the investments allocated to this program will more than increase the next years.

Financing drugs for elderly people who can not afford them enables the city to look after its aging population and help it avoid precarious situations in which vulnerable people may find themselves.
