Blue growth is among the five topics described as a development factor by the study on the future strategy of the Atlantic Cities 2020-2030, in order to contribute to the implementation of European policies in favour of the progress of the Atlantic Arc.

On 6th and 7th February 2020 Atlantic Cities took part at the All Atlantic Research Forum, as a key stakeholder for the Atlantic Ocean.

At the event, Atlantic Cities presented its initiative She4Sea as a key element for protecting our Atlantic coastal communities for a blue future. She4Sea is addressed to encourage women to work in areas related to the blue economy and improve their working conditions.

Mariya Gabriel, Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, highlighted the tight link between sustainability and digital transference. “It is crucial to support Scientifics and youth to implement the European Green Deal. We need to get healthier oceans and achieve a cleaner society”.

Our role as Atlantic Cities is key to build the Atlantic Community and join efforts to involve our citizens to protect our local environments. Protect our ocean it is not just a sea issue; it is also a land issue; green and blue growth goes hand by hand.
