As part of the framework of Atlantic Futures, Atlantic Cities closely collaborates with the European Border Regions’Association (AEBR) and European Solidarity Corps for the incorporation of “Interreg Volunteer Youth” (IVY) at its headquarters.
Since February 2018, Atlantic Cities has incorporated the IVY initiative with the goal of increasing employability, developing their work skills, and deepening volunteers’ knowledge on European projects and affairs. At this moment, the Association has three IVYs working in two different projects, EcoRIS3 and AYCH.
IVY offers the possibility to young people to serve as volunteers in cross-border, transnational or interregional programmes and related projects that enable volunteer to broaden their horizons and to learn in an engaging way.
IVY is directed to foster a greater sense of European belonging, citizenship and civic engagement among young people. Volunteers get the chance to experience cooperation and learn about the very local and concrete achievements of the Interreg programs and projects, while also contributing to it and becoming aware of the many benefits of collaborating across borders.
Atlantic Futures is open to participation of youth and civil servants of the Atlantic Cities. Please do not hesitate to contact our Secretariat to join this training program; we will soon publish our opportunities for 2020.
