On July 9th and 10th in Cardiff, CAAC Coordinator, Ms. Tamara Guirao, attended the Meeting of the Programme Monitoring Committee (PMC) of INTERREG ATLANTIC AREA and the Working Group preparing the next period.
On the first day PMC members discussed the Extension facility for on-going projects and decided a shortlist of Expressions of Interest to be invited to the second phase of the 4th Call of this programme. Ms. Tamara Guirao intervened to highlight that 100 proposals have been waiting for an answer, thus the Programme should search for a positive response for every stakeholder involved in the process. So CAAC proposal was twofold: First, the assessment cannot be limited to a score or to a summary, but it should help project managers (successful or not) to improve their proposals in future opportunities. Secondly, the Programme has the opportunity to improve awareness and participation in this OP taking into account these proposals when drafting the new, and letting the diverse organisations that have participated in the 4th call know so.
On the second day, the working group discussed the evaluation results of the programme. Ms. Guirao mentioned the immense opportunity given by communication and capitalisation to enhance the results of territorial cooperation. She also pinpointed the similarities and differences between the INTERREG initiative and the Atlantic Strategy, both earmarked by the Common Strategic Framework.
