On Multi-level Governance

For the Atlantic cities, the proposals put forward in the White Paper on multi-level governance of the Committee of the Regions (2010) should help:

  1. To define a more specific, and therefore more operational concept of multi-level governance, in the light of the Lisbon Treaty;
  2. To meet the requests made by all regional and local authorities and their associations, concerning the implementation of a new European governance, through reinforcing their participation in first discussing, and then formulating European policies in partnership with the new Parliament and new Commission.
