Via de la Plata Route (Silver Route) from Gijon is looking for partners concerning call (43/G/ENT/CIP/12/B/N/02S022) Support to transnat. thematic tourism products as means of enhancing competitiveness & sustainability of European tourism.
The overall objective of the present call for proposals is to enhance competitiveness and sustainability of European tourism and to contribute to the creation of an environment favourable to transnational co-operation among tourism-related stakeholders with a particular emphasis on the SMEs.
Via de la Plata Route (Silver Route) is interested in working on the topic of Roman Routes as a tool for the diversification of transnational thematic tourism products, building on the potential of these routes for sustainable development and European heritage, culture and citizenship.
GENERAL OBJECTIVES
-Create a European Association of Roman itineraries composed by small and micro enterprises and local authorities.
-Signposting of routes as Roman itineraries with stages for hikers and cyclists, taking into account the persons with fewer opportunities and environmental issues.
-Create a website with information on all these routes, completed by tourism packages designed by tour operators following criteria of sustainability. This website or microsite would be implemented in every one of the websites of the partners (routes) participants.
-Work with sustainability criteria. Promotion of the routes including routes hikers and cyclists.
PARTNER DESCRIPTION
- EU 27 Member States (not Spain). European Free Trade Association countries (EFTA) which are members of the European Economic Area (EEA). Other countries: Croatia, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey, Serbia, Montenegro, Albania and Israel.
- At least one of the partners in the consortium must be an SME – Small and Medium Size enterprise- acting in the tourism sector (tourist accommodation, catering, travel agencies and tour operators, attractions, leisure (recreational, cultural and sporting activities), tourism related transport and other tourism related fields)
- At least one of the partners of the consortium must be a public governmental authority (national, regional, local) in charge of tourism and/or regional development
- The call is also intended for networks or associations of public authorities, and /or public or semi-public body acting on behalf of the above mentioned public governmental authorities. Chambers of Commerce are not eligible.
