A Coruña and Atlantic Cities assess opportunities for cooperation

On 29th January 2020, A Coruña, member city and member of the Executive Bureau of the Atlantic Cities, held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Atlantic Cities, Tamara Espiñeira at the City Council premises. At the meeting took part the local government spokesman, José Manuel Lage Tuñas and the city councillors Juan Díaz Villoslada (Urbanism and Seafront), Esther Fontán (Environment), Eva Martínez (Innovation and Employment) and Yoya Neira (Social Services), with the aim of addressing different elements that facilitate cooperation between A Coruña, the member’ cities of Atlantic Cities and the diverse partners of the network.

The meeting main aim was to analyse Atlantic Cities role in Europe and to find synergies and common action lines at a time of change in Europe, since European funds and Policies will seriously evolve in 2021.

Moreover, Atlantic Cities Secretary General, Tamara Espiñeira explained that also the Atlantic Cities network is under a period of changes as this year is the Atlantic Cities’ 20 anniversary and the network is going to establish its strategic priorities for the upcoming 20 years. Among the highlighted priorities, the maritime dimension is expected to be key.
