Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council: Seminar on Networks and Cities

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council has hosted on 22nd January 2020 a seminar on Networks and Cities. The workshop was focused on the assessment of the new cities’ management model. This new model gives answer to the fourth Industrial Revolution and it is framed in Smart Cities development context.

The main target of this seminar was to approach the use of the new technologies of the information and communication as well as the Artificial Intelligence implementation in cities for the purpose of allowing to take efficient and effective measures at local level.

At this seminar took part 30 local experts, businessmen, computer scientists, urban planners, researchers and Local technical officers from Las Palmas City Council. The seminar was given by Michele Coscia, expert from the Internation Center for International Studies from the HARVARD University and professor at the University of Copenhague and Luis Bettencourt, expert from the Urban Innovation Center at the CHICAGO University.

To this regard, it is worth to highlight, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria City Council is going to develop a network of knowledge and collaboration focused on economic and coastal challenges which will be open to all interested public.
